Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo 2011

A host of captive bred snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles & very cool bugs were at the Rocky Mountain Expo today (November 12th).

Paws & Read magazine met with many of the vendors, including Ray and Carol Roehner of Designer Geckos, based out of Longmont. Ray and Carol are very well versed in the raising and care of a diverse range of geckos. Ray has a science degree and is a certified laboratory animal technologist. He has been raising reptiles and other animals since he was 5-years old. Both Carol and Ray will make sure you are well versed in the care of these precious creatures before you take one home!

We also had the opportunity to meet with several other vendors:

o Tiare and Ryan of Clockwork Reptile Company kindly provided us with some tips on diet and how to maximize the longevity of Leopard Geckos.

o The Reptile Jungle based out of Castle Rock showcased an assortment of tarantulas.

o Danny Johnson of Red Dragon Exotics kindly let us make a fuss of his Ball Python.

This made for a very interesting and different day out for Paws & Read magazine.
